Intensive Learning at Schiller International University

Schiller offers an intensive class schedule for undergraduate students that provides a fully immersive learning experience, as well as the flexibility to pursue extracurricular activities. At Schiller, students attend classes two days per week on campus for six hours each day, leaving you three days of the week to study, work, and experience student life.

While classes run two days per week, student schedules include extracurricular activities and classes designed to help increase their employability skills. These include career workshops, industry certifications, language clubs, or networking events with industry leaders, such as LOEWE, Toyota, SAS, and more.

Schiller’s Employability-Focused Activities Beyond the Classroom

Industry Engagement

Companies like LOEWE and EY have taken part in our annual Global Innovation Challenge, which sees students forming groups to solve real-world problems through communication and teamwork.

Career Workshops

Workshops with industry leaders, including United Nations, IBM, and Airbus, offer invaluable opportunities for insights into various career paths. These, along with career fairs and alumni meetups, make Schiller students stand out in the networking world.

Soft Skills Training

Take part in our extracurricular classes that will teach you critical soft skills for your future career, including critical thinking, problem-solving, public speaking, career management, and digital literacy.

Industry Certifications

Take additional courses to earn certificates for Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, SAS, and more – certifications that employers look for and help you stand out from your peers.

Volunteering

Gain hands-on experience and contribute to meaningful projects. Students recently partnered with Grandes Amigos, supporting senior citizens and promoting intergenerational connections.

Leadership Sessions

Leading companies in major industries, including Toyota and SAS, have joined students to talk about leadership in their fields of work.

Language Clubs

With campus locations in Paris, Heidelberg, and Madrid, and Tampa, we understand how important it is to speak a second language. The Student Council (STUCO) have formed clubs to learn together.

Master Classes

We offer master classes on employability-related topics, providing valuable insight and knowledge to our students from business experts and industry professionals.

Why Is the Two-Day Intensive Class Schedule Advantageous for Students?

The two-day schedule gives students a better work-life balance and enough time to allow them to study, take part in extracurricular activities, and enjoy student life. It also allows students to benefit from internships or work experience related to their program.

Class Time

During two days a week, for six hours a day, students will learn from professors who are experts in their fields. These 12 hours are split into four three-hour classes—each focused on one course—and students will complete four courses per term. For the shorter Spring term, students will complete two courses.

Study Time

Students will spend a lot of their time outside of class working on and reviewing class assignments or projects, whether it be a group assignment or final thesis/dissertation, which will be submitted in fourth year.

Work Experience

Our employability advisors will help students find suitable internships that align with their career aspirations. We also have partnerships with leading companies that are always looking for the next tech-savvy and committed innovator.

Extracurricular Activities

Language clubs, leadership lessons, soft skills training, career workshops, or pursuing industry certifications all increase your global employability.

Student Life

The intensive schedule offers students ample time to socialize, take part in sports activities, and enjoy recreational activities, many of which are organized by Schiller and foster a sense of community belonging.
