The Schiller International University Library Department offers a complimentary course, LIB 101, to all new students before the start of their first semester. 

Participation in this course is highly recommended, as it will help you get a head start on your journey with Schiller.

LIB 101 – Information Literacy for New Intakes is a preparatory, online course provided by the SIU Library and Student Services Departments. Available one week before the start of the new term, this course is designed to enhance your critical thinking skills and give you hands-on experience with the academic platforms you'll use in your courses at Schiller. 

LIB 101 covers essential topics to boost your critical thinking skills, including: 

  • Research fundamentals 

  • Plagiarism avoidance strategies 

  • Paraphrasing techniques 

  • APA formatting style 

  • Ethical considerations in AI usage within research
