Internships for International Students After Graduation
Germany offers excellent opportunities for Schiller graduates to stay and gain professional experience after completing their studies. Students from Schiller International University’s Heidelberg campus can apply for an 18-month residence permit to search for a job related to their degree. During this period, graduates may work in any position to support themselves while seeking qualified employment.
Once a graduate secures a position that aligns with their field of study, they can transition to a work visa or EU Blue Card, which can eventually lead to long-term residence in Germany or other EU countries. With Germany’s strong economy and global companies in sectors like business, technology, and international relations, Schiller graduates are well-positioned to begin a successful international career.

With over 40,000 students from around the world, the student-friendly city is buzzing with youthful energy.
Between Heidelberg’s Old Town with cobblestone streets, medieval architecture, and one of the most famous castles in Europe, and the Heidelberg-Königstuhl State Observatory, being an international student at Schiller is like living in a Mark Twain novel.
Transportation and Accessibility
Transportation and Accessibility
Heidelberg offers a reliable and eco-friendly transportation network, making it easy for students to move around the city and explore nearby regions.
- Trams and Buses – The Rhein-Neckar public transport system connects all areas of Heidelberg through frequent tram and bus routes, providing quick access to the university district, city center, and neighboring towns.
- Trains – Heidelberg’s central train station links directly to major German cities such as Frankfurt, Stuttgart, and Munich, as well as international destinations across Europe.
- Cycling – Known as a bicycle-friendly city, Heidelberg features extensive cycling paths and rental options, making it simple and sustainable to travel around campus and the city.
