How would you describe the spirit and culture of Schiller during your years on campus?
-When I just joined the university, it felt like a cozy home where everyone knew each other and as it was my first time in Spain. I was very surprised that people kiss each other on the cheek when they meet but I fell in love with the international environment. Later through the years, I was lucky to observe the growth of Schiller, not only as an institution but also the number of people and the campus relocation to the center of Madrid.
Could you tell us more about the company you work with and your role in this company?
-I am currently working in Madrid at the Radisson Hotel Group which is a very fast growing and innovative company. They constantly look at new partnerships and support the sustainability movement. I am working with the Revenue department in the Distribution team where I get to participate in many calls and maintain the connections with our Outsourcing Travel Agents (OTA) partners like Booking com, Expedia and Agoda. I also work with the Contact Centre and handle the Business Process Outsourcing company (BPO) which is a company that provides us with agents that speak different languages to attend to customers.
How has your education at Schiller played a role in your life since graduation?
-I feel much more secure about my knowledge and especially, understanding easily what is expected from me. Also, it has helped me develop my flexibility which helps me propose different ideas.
What do you consider to be the most valuable aspect of your Schiller experience?
- As well as Schiller, most big companies now are very international, and that aspect played a big part in me feeling more comfortable when getting along with people at work.
Can you tell us about a specific value or skill learned at Schiller that you implement on your professional career working on Revenue Distribution Systems?
-I was not expecting to work in the distribution team when I came to Radisson but the economics classes with Saraff and Alexandra Aaron helped me a lot!
What advice would you give to current students to help them make the most of their Schiller experience?
-Try to make as many connections as possible with other students. Don’t be scared to fail because at the end of the day it is just a “No”. And don’t turn down any offers, you can always leave.
Is there anything you wish you would’ve taken more advantage of as a student?
-No. I took the most advantage I could out of it, and I am happy I was in Schiller. I will definitely stay in touch with the people who taught me and studied with me in future.
