At Schiller International University, each campus brings a unique blend of culture, history, and academic excellence to our students. The Paris campus, a vibrant hub of international learning, is no exception. Today, we are excited to introduce the new Campus Director, Dr. Matthew Andrews, a seasoned academic leader with a wealth of experience in international higher education.

A Journey to Schiller Paris

Dr. Matthew Andrews - New Director Paris Campus

Dr. Matthew Andrews’ journey to Schiller’s Paris campus spans continents and decades. Originally from the United States, he has lived in Paris for 27 years and became a dual French citizen in 2006. With impressive academic credentials, including a PhD and an Executive MBA from the International School of Management in Paris and a Magistère Diploma from Sorbonne University, Dr. Andrews brings a deep connection to French culture and education.

His professional background is just as remarkable. Specializing in knowledge transfer, his PhD research focused on the e-commerce sector, and he has published extensively on topics such as knowledge management and organizational learning. With over two decades of experience in international higher education, Dr. Andrews recently served as the Director of the Grande Ecole Programme for IDRAC Business School in Lyon, a master’s degree program in international management and marketing.

A Vision for Growth

When asked about his vision for the Paris campus, Dr. Andrews speaks with enthusiasm and ambition. “Schiller, in general, and the Paris campus, in particular, have tremendous potential. I would like to see the Paris campus grow in every sense – enrollment, size, reputation, and impact,” he says. Dr. Andrews envisions the campus as a hub of expertise and scholarly exchange, where academia and the business world intersect. He is eager to foster deeper connections between the campus and the wider community by hosting events, conferences, and inviting experts, organizations, and alumni to engage with Schiller’s students and stakeholders.

The Unique Appeal of Paris

Dr. Andrews believes that studying in Paris offers an experience like no other. “Paris is one of the world’s most international cities and attracts scholars, students, and professionals from all over the globe,” he explains. The city’s rich history, diverse culture, and status as a center of global learning provide endless opportunities for students. From its historic architecture and renowned academic institutions to its modern infrastructure and vibrant startup ecosystem, Paris is the perfect place for students to immerse themselves in both tradition and innovation.

“Paris is also a fun place to be a student,” Dr. Andrews adds, highlighting the city’s independent cinemas and famous food culture as some of the unique aspects that make student life in Paris so special.

Prioritizing the Student Experience

For Dr. Andrews, the student experience is at the heart of his priorities for the Paris campus. “Schiller is very committed to its physical campuses at a time when people can learn almost anything remotely. The Paris campus must be a place for spontaneous exchange, interaction, and connection,” he says. Dr. Andrews is dedicated to creating a space where students not only gain knowledge but also build meaningful relationships and engage in enriching social activities.

To ensure the campus meets students' needs, Dr. Andrews plans to meet with students and colleagues in the coming days, emphasizing the importance of listening and fostering two-way engagement.

With Dr. Matthew Andrews at the helm, Schiller’s Paris campus is poised to grow and thrive, offering students a dynamic and globally connected learning environment in one of the world’s most inspiring cities.
