The Schiller Madrid campus held its graduation ceremony for the Class of 2023! The event was filled with inspiring speeches, recognition of outstanding achievements, and a sense of camaraderie that marked a new chapter in the lives of these graduates.

Master of Ceremony, José B. Pinto, commenced the ceremony by welcoming everyone and setting the stage for a memorable evening.

Carmen Alba, Campus Director of Schiller Madrid, delivered a heartfelt welcome address, acknowledging the resilience and determination of the graduating students and welcoming them to the Schiller Alumni family. “You can leave Schiller, but you will never really leave”, Carmen explained.

Our Keynote Speaker, Luis Álvarez Satorre, CEO of NEORIS EMEA, took the stage as the keynote speaker, sharing valuable insights on how to tackle life. He encouraged the graduates to embrace the journey of life as a video game, urging them to collect knowledge and skills, embrace teamwork and diversity, navigate challenges with resilience, and use their privilege to make a positive impact on society. "In this grand video game of life, there are certain tools that we must collect along the way... Seek out opportunities to learn, embrace diversity, and remember that true success is measured by the positive impact we have on the lives of others."

Dr. Jesús Soto, the Academic Dean, presented the prestigious Student Awards to deserving individuals who had demonstrated exceptional academic performance, leadership, and a commitment to cross-cultural understanding.

Veronika Rudnyk received the Valedictorian Award for achieving the highest GPA. She delivered a heartfelt speech acknowledging the challenges they have faced, the uncertainty of the future, and the need to embrace adulthood and take responsibility for their lives. She emphasized the importance of having a purpose, standing up for one's values, and being resilient in the face of obstacles.  "He who has a why to live for, can bear almost any how."

While Alexis Taub Glasberg was awarded the Velazquez Award, named in honor of Diego Velázquez, for his outstanding leadership and service to the university community. In his speech he delivered a thought-provoking question, “How would you change the world?” Drawing inspiration from U.S Admiral McRavens famous quote, “If you want to change the world, start by making your bed.” Alexis shared his own approach to this, influenced by his teacher José Pinto by saying, “Tell me one good thing you did yesterday,” emphasizing the transformative potential that one good deed a day can have on the world.

Chris Kostov received the esteemed title of "Madrid's Best Instructor 2023" after being elected by the student body. This recognition highlights the dedication and commitment of the faculty members at Schiller Madrid.

Dr. Jesús Soto then took the stage to confer the degrees upon the graduating students. The audience erupted in applause as each graduate walked across the stage to receive their well-deserved diplomas.

Degrees awarded included Bachelor of Arts in International Economics, Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Diplomacy, Bachelor of Science in International Business, Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality and Tourism Management, and Master of Science in Business Administration in International Business.

Dr. Marta Muñiz, President of Schiller Madrid, delivered the closing remarks, expressing her pride in the achievements of the graduates. She encouraged them to embrace the opportunities that lay ahead and make a positive impact on the world as they carry the Schiller legacy with them.

To commemorate the end of a memorable chapter, the graduates joined together in singing the traditional graduation hymn, "Gaudeamus Igitur." The uplifting melody filled the room, resonating with a sense of accomplishment and optimism for the future.

Following the formal proceedings, the celebration continued with an exhilarating afterparty and reception. Graduates, families, faculty, and staff mingled on the rooftop terrace, enjoying the stunning views of Madrid, and relishing in the shared sense of achievement.
