At Schiller International University, our alumni are a source of pride and inspiration. We believe in celebrating their successes and sharing their unique stories. In this Alumni Spotlight, we catch up with Remedios Santos Molina, who reflects on her academic journey, the impact of her Schiller experience, and her exciting career in the world of luxury brands.

Can you tell us a bit about your background and where you are currently working?

Certainly! During my time at Schiller, I was deeply committed to gaining practical experience alongside my studies, as I believed it was crucial for both my career and personal growth. I began with internships at a corporate communication agency, followed by a brief stint in marketing and communications. Later, I embarked on a unique journey in the fashion world, collaborating with a Parisian designer named Juan Martín. This experience involved everything from marketing to event proposal designs for the City of Cordoba.

Today, I've been working for the past year at LVMH, a conglomerate of luxury brands that includes Loewe and Tiffany. I feel incredibly passionate about my current role, as it offers me the opportunity to immerse myself in various aspects of the luxury industry.

Could you share your experience during your time at Schiller University's campuses?

Of course! I had the opportunity to study at Schiller's campuses in Madrid and Paris. My time in Madrid was particularly memorable. The classes and professors were exceptional, and the vibrant university life made it a fantastic experience.

During my semester in Paris, the circumstances were a bit challenging due to the pandemic. However, I still cherish the memories and the diverse student community I was a part of. It was a different experience, but I learned valuable lessons about adaptability and resilience.

How do you think your Schiller education prepared you for your current career?

My Schiller education had a significant impact on my career journey. The focus on monthly courses allowed me to concentrate deeply on each subject, enhancing my ability to absorb and apply knowledge.

Moreover, the professors at Schiller were not just educators; they were mentors who shared their real-world experiences. This practical approach to teaching has been invaluable in my current role, where I deal with a diverse range of tasks, from vendor negotiations to event planning.

Are there any professors at Schiller who left a lasting impression on you?

Absolutely! There were several professors who made a profound impact on my academic and personal development. Professor Pinto was one of them. He had a unique teaching style that I still draw inspiration from in my presentations today. Professor Paloma also made classes enjoyable and enlightening. Their ability to make even complex subjects engaging is something I truly appreciate.

How would you describe the Schiller University community and its multicultural aspect?

The Schiller community is one of its most remarkable features. The multicultural environment is a real asset. Interacting with peers from diverse backgrounds enriched my academic experience. It allowed me to gain a global perspective, which is a valuable skill in today's interconnected world.

What advice would you give to students considering Schiller University?

Schiller University is a fantastic choice, but it's essential to have the right mindset. I recommend it to those who are open to traveling, learning from different cultures, and pushing their boundaries. The monthly course structure, dedicated professors, and mobility across campuses are all fantastic assets.
