Schiller International University has entered into an agreement with Tennis Club Chamartin to sponsor the Jaime Riaño Silver Cup for an initial period of two years. This collaboration underscores our commitment to the values of competitive sports and reflects the shared belief of Schiller International University and “Club de Tenis Chamartín” in the importance of nurturing both academic and athletic skills for the holistic development of students.

The Jaime Riaño Silver Cup, now in its 28th edition, will take place from December 22 to January 7, marking it as one of Madrid's oldest tournaments. Renowned for its tradition of promoting emerging talent in the world of tennis and instilling values such as dedication, sportsmanship, and personal achievement, the tournament has seen participation from notable tennis players including Fernando Verdasco, a club member, Feliciano López, the first junior winner, and Guillermo García López. In the last edition, the tournament drew 250 players aged 8 to 18.

Marta Muñiz, President and CEO of Schiller International University, expressed her enthusiasm for this collaboration, stating: "As an American university, at Schiller we believe in sports as a discipline that strengthens not only the body but also character and mind. By joining forces with such a prestigious ally as “Club de Tenis Chamartín”, we reaffirm our commitment to making experiential learning a cornerstone of our educational model. Additionally, our Florida campus is situated in one of the tennis hubs in the United States, making Schiller an option for students seeking to combine higher education with a competitive experience."

This strategic alliance, which aims to support students looking to balance university studies with competitive sports, reflects Schiller's ongoing commitment to providing students with comprehensive training that prepares them for real-world challenges.

Nicolás Ramos, President of Club de Tenis Chamartín, added: "For Club de Tenis Chamartín, it is an honor to have the support of such a prestigious university as Schiller in a tournament aimed at young players contemplating their future. Schiller is an excellent option for them: studying in Madrid within a great American university. Moreover, their support for the club's youth teams enhances and improves our vision of sports always tied to education and the future of our players."
